Mauricio grew an interest in baking as a young boy, watching his aunt cook. When he grew older, he had the chance to work in the bakery at a small local Mexican restaurant, El Gallo Giro, where he learned the ins and outs of the bakery and his unique talent for baking. From there, an opportunity arose at Flavor Right; Mauricio’s introduction to a rewarding career as a bakery technician at age 26.
His desire to learn has brought him 20 years worth of exciting challenges and experience in the bakery. In 2012, when Rich’s acquired Flavor Right, Mauricio joined the Rich's team and never looked back. He wears many hats at Rich’s, working with decorators and bakery managers, leading associate trainings on new products, as well as developing product and recipe ideation.
Inspired and motivated by challenges, Mauricio loves creating new ideas and training individuals on new skills. His passion shines through his creativity and the respect his trainees, coworkers and supervisors have for his work. Mauricio loves the freedom Rich’s allows him to be as creative and skillful as he can be.
