Culinary Manager
Shyanne Gutierrez
Shyanne’s passion for pastry began as a young girl, influenced by her time baking and bonding with her father, who had a sweet tooth and a patient heart, nurturing her talent in the kitchen. They baked together, watched the Food Network together and when she was 12 years old, he took her to cake decorating classes, further developing her skills and love for creating beautiful masterpieces.
Shyanne began decorating cakes for friends’ and families’ milestones and events and translated those skills to her first job out of high school working in the bakery department at a well-known grocery chain. It was there that Shyanne honed her speed and precision under pressure, working in a fast-paced environment. This led her to other cake decorating opportunities at various retail chains, where she grew in her craft, learning more about the technical side of baking. During this time, she was also introduced to Rich’s widely-loved bakery products, which laid the foundation for her later role as a Bakery Technician with Rich’s just five years ago, training her customers to use their many products most efficiently!
Rich’s quickly became a second family to Shyanne, always supporting her and pushing her to achieve her goals, which included pursuing a degree from the Culinary Institute of America (CIA). While attending the CIA, she had the opportunity to extern at a James Beard Foundation finalist and 1-star MICHELIN restaurant, where she refined her craft and later returned to work after graduation. Her husband’s unwavering support and encouragement made it possible for her to accomplish all of this while caring for their two young daughters.
Three months after her five-year anniversary at Rich’s, Shyanne transitioned to the savory side where more new and exciting opportunities awaited her. A lifelong learner and leader, she is proud to represent women on the culinary front as Culinary Manager!
